Will your job exist in 2022 or not?

World is going through rapid changes and with every new technology being introduced in market. We all calculate its positive impact on our lives but it also impacts our economies on macro level in both ways creating and cutting jobs. Most classic example of technological influence on macro level is introduction of computers and it replaced most of clerical staff which was used for record keeping and file management. But created few new jobs for computer operators. But an individual has no concern about macro impact, but every individual who is in professional life or soon to be concerns about this question. Will my job exist in next 10 or 20 years?  I took out time to address this issue so that we can do risk analysis and so we together can adapt changes, learn some new skills for diversion in future. This piece on general analysis rather on any specific industry. Following are some ways to counter the title question and getting ourselves prepared for future.

        Learn  how to code:
It is very essential to know basic coding, it is just like learning basic science or maths. Even if you are doctor, salesman, or any other professional. Code really helps you to understand how software is working, knowing code really opens you to adapt change in your job because it empowers you to understand what's going on back end of any program, software or website. Also coding is like knowing how to speak English or any other language. It is not essential for your job but adds a lot of value to it. Endorsing this idea globally code.org have launched an initiative to make everyone learn how to code it is called Hour of Code. Giants like Bill Gates, Mark Zuckerberg have endorsed this initiative.

        Learn to do sales:
Most of you would be wondering after learning programming why would anyone learn sales. In my view coding and sales is great set which can make you effective and efficient enough to be adapt, learn and understand any technological changes or any industry and keeps you on safe side. Now the question is why sales? We all should learn sales because this is the one of the few things technology can't replace. With digital marketing you have right set of information to target buyers but still it didn't replace hard core salesman, but many technologies are being introduced to aid salesman, Salesforce.com is the best example of it. If you know how to do sales, you aren't dependent on a job only, but you can create your own idea and be an entrepreneur. Once a man very impressively said, Salesman digs a well himself and end his and others thirst. Whether you are technical or not it is good to know sales.

Analyze your skill set and technology in your industry
It is very important to know where you are standing in market and what is demand in market going on. Even if you are a businessman you should add some value to the business rather being the one sitting behind desk. You should know changes which can influence your industry. What are new technologies to be introduced or already which people are working on. Which areas needs to be changed and improvised this analysis is very important so that you can also be a part of creating a change. But most important thing is analyzing your own skill set, and what others have in the industry. What is the change appetite of your industry. What is the probability that your job would be replaced by a Robot? You can see below mentioned link for reference this for UK but can be easily relatable because of globalization and globalized changes.  http://www.bbc.com/news/technology-34066941

       Stay updated:
You should know what's going on in the world and around you. Some people limit themselves to only their work, which is not a good idea. Because most of the time it is external factors which are influencing changes your work. You should be subscribed to news websites like Business Insider, Tech Crunch, Wall Street Journal, and other news outlets. It is good to know technologies being introduced , geopolitical scenario, and global policies. It empowers to learn more and more. Communication with influence group of your industry on platform like linkedin.com etc. Also finding specialized social webs for your industry. For example for mining industry there is one site called infomine.com many others exist for other industries like this.

       Learn, Adapt and Share:
Finally the central idea of whole concept is you have to reiterating on what you are doing. You should continue the process of learning, and also keep some diverging skill sets so that you can jump off if the boat is sinking. Even merely a life jacket would work, so knowing basics would also help you. And we all should keep learning new things and technologies, we should adapt new ideas and concepts also share with our peers, colleagues and fellows. Sharing is caring, this century belongs to collaborators not competitors.

What is the difference between the words tradeshow and exhibition?

There are two words frequently used for (Business-to-Business) B2B and (Business-to- Consumer) B2C events, most people debate on which term to use. Whether to call an event an exhibition or a tradeshow, expo or messe how to develop content of you event?, which keywords to use?. These questions are very vital for all people organizer, participant and visitor. There is not much difference in any of these terminologies but when it comes to Search Engine Optimization of your services and events. Here I take this opportunity to identify the both terminologies for the literary purpose also if we can motivate all the stakeholders to use common terminologies so that it easy for people using Search engine to get the write information about the required show.

Trade Show:

Trade show is comprised of two words "Trade" and "Show". Trade show is also know as trade fair. Trade show is an event which is organized mainly in the reference to enhance trade or business activity of a particular entity, country, organization or association. Trade show back in old days were organized for the general bulk buyers, these were organized in trading hubs of that time, like Istanbul (Constantinople) , London, Florence (where renaissance began from), etc Trade show is right place not just to increase sales but to communicate your values, learn new technologies, enhance products and services. Trade show is most subtle industry of all, will continue to make its mark even in this age of high technology. As I have discussed this in my previous article: http://eventising.blogspot.com/2015/09/this-era-of-information-and-technology.html

Exhibition:

The word Exhibition mostly refer to the presentation or portrayal of ideas, products or services. Exhibition is more inclined to towards concept of showcasing rather than tradeshow, exhibition may contain elements of awareness, projection, influencing and other motives like these. Exhibition mainly focus on presentation, education, and information rather doing sales, it also focuses on enhancing sales but it is not the focus. Art Exhibitions are very famous in many circles, also exhibitions in technical services and other portfolios.

This is the brief overview about the two terminologies, "Tradeshow" and "Exhibition". I hope this could help organizers while creating their content.

5 ways to manage photography in Events and Exhibitions.

In an exhibition or event it is very vital that you exhibition or events organizer should get right photographs. It is the most important factor in marketing for the next edition as there is a strong belief in market, what is being seen, is being sold. Right combination of snaps should be taken, most of the time photographer doesn't understand the value of your business and which combination of photographs will add more value to your business. Therefore a photographer or the team of photographer must be briefed before event, exhibition or trade show. Below are few guidelines to develop event photography plan.

1. Analyze photography need with respect to marketing material:

It is very important to know where you require the photographs to be posted after events, in what marketing materials do we require to incorporate events photography. Such as :

  • Post show report
  • Social media
  • Brochure of next edition
  • Events or Exhibitions website
  • Magazines
  • Post show news
  • Blogs
  • Banners, Standees and may be billboards
  • Event portfolio
  • Exhibitors or participants copy

This is very important for a photographer to know where the photographs or snaps would be used, so that his perception of the photograph should be aligned with organizer's requirement. Most of the time photographers uses simple wedding photography techniques in trade-show or corporate events because photographers mostly imagine or perceive the use of photograph for creating an album or portfolio. This isn't it. But business and corporate events adds much more in the to-do list.

2. Assemble a team of professional and passionate photographers:

Rather going for one photographer, organizer should hire a team. In an event or exhibition, hiring a professional team is very important. More than being professional I feel being passionate is also really important, young people are vital part of any team. Also I believe team leader should be experienced person. Who can guide the team effectively. I disagree with a notion that everyone who own a good camera is good photographer. In my view a good photographer is the one who has great perception, sense of lighting and other details.

Hire a right and skilled photographer, rather being a photographer yourself or hiring any unprofessional photographer. Good photography is very important part of event, because you need to attract more and more people to your events or business.

3. Develop a photography plan

Event plan should also contain a detailed photography plan which should have all the shot list, which snaps to be taken. Also assigning relevant photographer on following tasks:

  • Candid shots of all the participants in an event
  • Photographs of branding material and ambiance of an event, such as banners, exhibition, stands, stage branded wall, reception, sponsored material, food etc
  • Photography of special guests, key players and highlights such as awards ceremony etc in an event.
  • One person for back up and technical support should also be available.
This plan should be followed rather just taking random pictures or photographs.

4. Check the technicalities:

Technical detailing and back up should be considered on priority base. In case of any emergency or any damaged instrument there should be a back up support. Other than that technically organizer should provide photographer the required environment for effective and efficient photography. Following is the checklist, for technical support from the organizer and also it includes items which are to be brought by photographers themselves:

  • Lighting
  • Charged camera
  • Charged Flash batteries
  • Extra charged batteries
  • Extra memory sticks
  • Charged Laptop where photographs can be back up immediately
  • Laptop charger
  • Right choice of lens.
  • Tripod stand
  • Lens cleaning kit
  • Power point for charging
  • Data cables
  • Charging cables
  • High speed internet

5. Maintain agility in Event Photography Plan:

Maintaining agility in plan and communication between organizer and photography team is very important.  In an event most of the times there is a change of plan due to any circumstance or any special situation. So it must be communicated to the photographers in order to capture all the important moments and highlight all the experience colorfully. Photographer are the ones who capture moments and save them forever in a frame for the rest of our lives to remember and feel the experience.

For the photographer and event organizer I would like to share a detailed link for maintaining checklists for any specific event, this might be help organizers and photographer in documenting the checklists and implementing the process on site effectively and efficiently.

Why to use venue sourcing services?

This new age of social media and information technology has changed the events organizers work very much, whether it is exhibition, conference, meeting, seminar, or any consumer engagement event. Now event organizer can deal all things on its own, so it takes help of other partners in sourcing and hiring best and up to date services for the event. So that event organizer can focus on marketing and managing the event rather getting in the nitty gritty of every single thing.

Out of all services in this article I would like to take the light on one particular service that is venue sourcing. Sourcing right venue is the most important and most technical thing of all. Specially when your going in to the new market it is very hard to negotiate best price from the venue itself. Also the other main thing is getting the right servicing from the venue. Global Cynergies, a company based in Scottsdale, Arizona is providing very good and spot on venue sourcing service. The best part is they dont charge anything from the organizers

GLOBAL CYNERGIES LLC, is one of the reputed company in hotel and venue sourcing which is rapid growing. Formed in 2008 by the visionary corporate leader Pat Droucher. Global Cynergies is growing and established phenomenon in America and Europe market and penetrating in the middle east and Asia market with specialized and systematic services. Following is the procedure of venue sourcing according to there website: (reference to link is : http://globalcynergies.com/services-2/how-we-do-it/)

  • Conducting extensive research using in-house technology, proprietary data, industry resources, and collective personal knowledge to determine which properties meet the needs of the meeting.
  • Creating and sending program specific request for proposals (RFPs) to appropriate properties.
  • Collecting responses from the properties, including follow-up as necessary.
  • Presenting available options in an easy to read, comparative report.
  • Assisting in contract negotiations to make sure the best overall value and contract provisions based on local industry norms.
  • Liaising with hotel through contract signature. (All contracts are signed between hotel and the client.)
  • Assisting in transition to conference management after contract signature.

The above is the procedure of how they do it. Venue sourcing is very crucial service and in my view should be outsourced to the specialized people because they offer great value addition in the process. The more stakeholders add in an event more chances are of its being successful because colloboration is the key.

Mother nature has protected life with layers of protection whether its ozone, skin, or earth. When human started creating wonders, since then they had been inspired by the nature to protect and to make it attractive. Coating is referred to a covering which is applied to the objects with the purpose of decorating or protecting the objects. Coating can be applied to cover the objects partially or completely. Product label on drinks bottles where one side depicts the function of the product and other side has decorative coating in the form of word or images to make the bottles attractive is the best example in current era. Major Industries use thin film coating such as paper, fabric, film, foil or sheet stock to the objects to make it attractive.
